When I was younger, my favourite t-shirt had the slogan “LIVE TRUE”. At the time, I loved it because it had my name on it. Now, I love it because I think that phrase embodies what True-Story is about. What does it mean to “live true”? It is to live wholeheartedly, honestly, without lies or pretence. I want to live this way, and I want to write stories that highlight the real, true-blue beauty, adventure, people and life this world brings.

True-Story is just a blog with stories from my life, and from the world around me. It is a challenge for me personally to keep my eyes open, and to live true. I write these stories of life, beauty, adventure and people, because I want to soak in the world around me. I want to challenge my thoughts and opinions. I want to appreciate the beauty. I want to be unafraid to take risks and do hard things. I want to listen to other people’s stories. I want to live true.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Philippians 4:8 NLT
That is why I write these stories. And I share these stories to encourage you to do the same. If they inspire or challenge you, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to share your thoughts or stories in the comments of each post. I believe there is a lot of value in sharing stories with one another.
I try to post once a fortnight; sometimes more often than that. You can also join my email list here for monthly updates on True-Story, extra stories of life, beauty, adventure and people, and more.

January 8, 2020 at 9:04 amLive true: yes such a challenge. It’s a word often thrown around but you’ve asked the right question: what does living true actually mean? This is the challenge. I love that beautiful verse you shared. I also love Micah 6:8 because it provides a framework to strive for as I move through the world. This is how I strive to live true:
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Three things:
Act Justly
Love Mercy
Walk Humbly
So simple. So hard. So inspiring.
