I think I’ve told you before, I love watching the sun rise.
However, sunsets also capture my attention. I live in a place well-known for its spectacular sunsets over the beach.

Dad kind of likes making WhatsApp groups.
The other week, I watched a sunset that blew me away. The sky melted from deep indigo to a pale pink, before hovering above the horizon as a vibrant orange. The kind of scene that refuses to be photographed or decorated with words in a way that does it justice.
I had just gone on a run to the beach with my mum and sister, and was taking my dog for a walk. It stopped me in my tracks for quite a while.

The colours of the sky left me in awe, but the feeling of peace in the sunset also filled me. Reminiscent of the feeling I get from watching a sunrise (still my favourite – check out this sunrise blog post). It’s a feeling of hope, and assurance. A new day is coming. There is beauty in the world.

So ends this day
The road is now calling
And I must away”
The Last Goodbye by Billy Boyd
Throughout these weeks, I have often thought back to that sunset. It has been a nice memory to come back to. Also a reminder for me not to limit myself. Sure, I love sunrises, but, hey, appreciate the sunset too. 🙂

October 7, 2019 at 8:45 amBeautiful Trudy. I honestly could not pick whether I prefer sunsets or sunrises – I think I love them both equally with great measure. ? There have been some amazing skies lately, I loved the clouds and stars at night when we were camping recently?
