I was busy getting ready for school when the incredibly vibrant colours of the sunrise caught my eye.

Sunrises are definitely my favourite. I love the transformation that takes place in the world when the dark becomes light. I love the soft, yet vibrant colours of the sunrise. I love the gentle air of celebration at the arrival of the sun in the birds’ morning song.
So grabbing dad’s phone (best camera in the house), I went downstairs to get a closer view of the sunrise this morning.
Maybe there’s a reason the sunrise, among other things, often refuses to be well photographed. Maybe it’s so we can put the camera down and appreciate it through our own eyes, without worrying about our photography skills.
And so, it was a nice start to my day. Just sitting and enjoying the sunrise. The small, beautiful event has made my day so far. It makes me wonder who else noticed it this morning.
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord ’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

May 13, 2019 at 12:28 pmLove those little moments that point to God. I often think the same with the moon — a photo can never capture the beauty of it! Also the way the sunlight marbles through the trees. So many times I have tried to capture these but the copy is disappointing compared to the complex beauty I see with my eyes. A good reminder to take the time to stop and enjoy the moment with all the wonder, that it is.
